Public debate on the political participation of persons with disabilities

Organized by the Association for the Promotion and Development of Inclusive Society - “Inkluziva”, and with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), within the Citizen Participation Project, on December 4, 2017, in the Millennium Hotel in Bitola a public debate was held on the political participation of persons with disabilities in Macedonia. The event was attended by the representatives of "Mobility Bitola", Mitko, Zhivko and Bozhin.
The debate started with a welcoming speech from the representative of the municipality of Bitola, Mr. Borche Korlevski, who spoke on behalf of the Mayor Petrovska, and the introduction to the project was made by Elena Chekorovska, project coordinator, followed by a presentation and a report on the elections 2016-2017, conducted and presented by "Inkluziva".
The discussion covered two important issues: what measures are needed at local level to improve the participation of persons with disabilities in the political and electoral process, and how persons with disabilities become active participants in the decision-making process at the local level.
With the active approach and discussions, the delegation of "Mobility Bitola" contributed to a good and successful course of the debate, giving clear recommendations to the local and state authorities on the place and role of persons with disabilities.
Our activities continue.
