Promotion of "Compass" under the motto "Let's give life to the Macedonian compass"

In the full organization of the Center for Human Rights "AMOS" from Bitola, on September 14, the promotion of the Macedonian edition of the human rights education manual for young people "Compass", published by the Council of Europe, took place. Following its commitments, AMOS made a capital work, i.e. the release and promotion are the result of two decades of work. This manual has been issued in 31 languages (now also in Macedonian), and covers all aspects of human rights and the ways in which young people can best be educated and familiarized with human rights, including the rights of persons with disabilities (in the context of global human rights topics. Otherwise, this manual was written by an international team under the patronage and full support of the Council of Europe. The first edition was published in 2002, and the last updated and revised edition is from 2020, translated by the AMOS team. For the Republic of North Macedonia, an introduction follows, which together with the human rights education manual for children - "Compass", Living in Democracy and How all teachers can support civil and human rights education: a framework for developing competencies, "Compass" directs efforts to implement human rights education from the earliest years - kindergarten, primary, secondary, higher education - middle school. As representatives of "Mobility Bitola", the promotion was attended by the president prim. Dr. Niko Jankov and Ivona Jankova, associate member and manager of the "Alter Trip" project, who also participated in the national training for human rights educators. Our member Simona Jovevska was also present, as a representative of the Municipality of Bitola.
