Traditional excursion of Mobility Bitola

On September 17, 2023, Mobility Bitola successfully realized the traditional excursion for its members from Bitola, Demir Hisar and Resen. This year, for the first time, accessible transportation was provided, with an adapted bus from the "MIG Travel" agency from Bitola, whose fleet for intercity traffic includes a large number of accessible buses with a built-in platform for a wheelchair, which greatly facilitated the journey for some of our members. This year's destination was Krushevo, where the members had the opportunity to visit several sights. The first stop was the monastery of St. Transfiguration, known as the second home of the legendary Toše Proeski, whom the kind hosts told that he visited since childhood and later participated in its restoration. The tour then continued to the Krushevo cross, 33 meters high, also built according to Toše's idea, where the attendees enjoyed the beautiful panorama and the clean mountain air. Then, the team headed to the Memorial House of Toše Proeski, which is one of the most accessible cultural facilities in the country, and the most accessible in the Pelagonia region, according to the results of our "Alter Trip" project. As the employees informed us, the museum will soon become even more accessible for people with disabilities, that is, tactile settings will be presented that will bring Toshe even closer to the visitors with visual impairments. According to the law, entry to all museums for people with disabilities is free, and the tour through Toše's rich heritage was led by curator Nadica Taleska. The last part of the outing was the poetry reading by our members Biljana Todorovska from Bitola, Kire Ognenovski from Demir Hisar and Sotir Chaushevski from Resen, who were joined by little Michaela Stefanovska. The organizer also provided a light lunch, a sandwich and a drink, and before the very end, some of the members visited Toše's grave. The beautiful and sunny weather lasted almost until the very end, when the first drops of rain sent us on our way back home.
